TechFoam is twice a month social networking event for local technology startups and those interested
in technology startups. Seattle has Hops and Chops, and the Eastside has TechFoam. We meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, anytime after about 6 PM. Everyone is welcome to join.
When: After 6:00 PM, the first and third Wednesday of every month
Where: The Spot Off Main, Bellevue
20 103rd Ave NE Google Map (behind 7/11)
Sorry I didn’t get everyone’s name last night, but it looked like there were great conversations going on the entire time. It looked like we had about a dozen people last night.
Thanks go out to Ryan, the manager at The Spot Off Main for the great appetizers (all deep fried).
We hope anyone interested will join us for the 3rd TechFoam. The first two were great opportunities to network, share ideas, and drink beer. This time I’ll try to remember to bring the sign. Don’t be afraid to look around, we will be there and we are friendly.
Another great TechFoam, thanks everyone for showing up. I remember talking to Rob, Matt, Hoyt, John, Karim, Maris, Minh, Eric, and Julia. The next one will be Feb 18th, same place. Thanks for the great discussions and passable beer.
The next TechFoam is this Wednesday (February 4th) at the usual time and place (The Spot Off Main in Bellevue, starting around 6pm). Hope you all can make it. For a little bit of info, here is what The Spot has on tap: Bud Light, Stella, Blue Moon, and Mac and Jack.
Last night was the first TechFoam, and we had about 10 people show up for good conversation. We talked about term sheets, lawyers, source control systems, and many other topics. I had hoped to take some pictures, but we were all too busy talking. Other than us, The Spot Off Main was pretty empty, making it easy for us to get seats, talk, and get beer. Next TechFoam will be February 4th, same location. Thanks for coming Eric, Rob, Bart, Brian, Matt, Jeff, Kapenda, Maris, and I feel like I’m missing someone.
Don’t forget to join us for the first ever TechFoam on Wednesday 1/21. I’ve had a few emails, so I know there will be some people there. I’m hoping to have a sign (using at least one of the logos in the previous post) so people don’t have to go around to groups saying “is this TechFoam?”.
The first ever occurrence of TechFoam will be Wednesday, January 21st, 2009. Hopefully people will show up for some beer and good conversation, and we can really continue to build a great Eastside startup community to match the great Seattle startup community.
First I’ll start with an introduction: My name is John Dietz (be careful, there are actually several John Dietz’s in the Seattle tech community). I’ve been working in technology for nearly 20 years and I am working on my second startup, Adometry.
Of course to build a great community, you need a great logo, so Adometry’s graphic designer, Katherine Fugitt, put a few together for us. If you have any thoughts, please comment.
